Providing a special kind of care
Coming to terms with a terminal illness can be frightening for both the individual and their family. At this difficult time, people require special care to help them come to terms with their illness, alleviate their pain, ease their anxieties and enable them to live life to the full, right up until they die.
The Pasque Charity provides both emotional and practical support for adults and children diagnosed with a life-limiting condition.
One of only a handful of UK organisations offering both an adult and children’s hospice from the same site, the Pasque Adult Hospice provides for patients in South and Mid Bedfordshire and Keech Cottage Children’s Hospice for children in Beds and Herts. Care focuses on controlling pain and other symptoms, offering psychological and spiritual support and helping families and friends during the patient’s illness and into bereavement.
The aim of both hospices is to help patients enjoy the highest quality of life, while providing vital support for their family and friends. Our services include inpatient and day care facilities, complementary therapies, music and hydrotherapy, plus family and bereavement support. All our services are available regardless of race, religion or culture and are provided free of charge, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Operating these facilities will require £3.7 million this year, of which over 80% must be raised through fundraising, voluntary donations and the charity’s trading company. The Pasque Charity is dependent on the support of the local community to continue its valuable care.
