The Nepali Children's Trust is a registered charity supporting the Disabled Newlife Centre (DNC) in Kathmandu. Details of the charity registration and its objects can be found on the Charity Commission Website
DNC is run by a group of local Nepali people in Kathmandu who recognised the need for support for disabled children.
There is no free medical care or other assistance for disabled children in Nepal which is one of the poorest countries in the world. For more about disability in Nepal click here
Fran McGowan who is chair of the Nepali Children's Trust, and honorary board member of DNC, first visited Nepal in 2002 She spends as much time as possible in Kathmandu and regularly visits the centre. Fran directly oversees the administration of funds raised by the Nepali Children's Trust.
The Trust supports both the daily needs of the children and needs donations towards a new purpose-built centre to secure a permanent home for the children.
