Ethiopian Schools for the Poor - English Alive Academy is a British registered charity ( 1140681) supporting English Alive – a not for profit school catering for pupils aged between three and twelve based in Nazret, Ethiopia currently providing full time education to 192 pupils.
Its mission is to provide quality education for poor children.
It does this through:
- Heavily subsidised fees and financially based scholarships
- Teacher training, imported educational materials and small classes.
- Foreign teaching volunteers

We are fundraising for :
- Sponsorship of 200 pupils - £ 11.66 per month
- Sponsorship of 14 teachers - £ 27 per month
So that as many poor Ethiopian children as possible get the education they deserve.
Through jumping you will be helping children such as:
Kalkidan - like so many of the children at the school has only one parent, due to the death of the other.
Withou a father, Kalkidan's mother struggles to support her family.
Jobs in Ethiopia are scarce, with this being especially true of small towns like Nazareth, where without qualifications and a decent education, the future with a job is simply a dream.
However, Kalkidan’s mother is determined to give her daughter a promising future, thus approached the school, and secured a free place.
On her own side, Kalkidan’s mother is proving that she is doing her best for her family through selling small items such as peanuts, tissues and sweets from a basket at the side of the street.
